Statement of Guided Goal
During the 2012-2103 school year, I was a member of the Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC) cohort 2 group at Manheim Township Middle School. LDC is designed to make literacy instruction an integral part of middle and high school content areas. LDC relies on research and formal reading and writing instruction to set a base for content area learning. The LDC framework is used to create "modules" or units to meet Common Coreliteracy standards. As a participant in LDC, I worked with consultants at IU-13, Barb Smith and Kelly Gailbraith, Megan Quirk, and Greg Brown and Shawn Robbins, cohort 1 participants. Megan and I worked together to create two modules for our 8th grade students.
